Thank you for your interest in my campaign to be retained as a judge in King County District Court, Shoreline. In January 2023, the King County Council unanimously appointed me to this position. I am honored by their trust.

I decided to serve as a District Court Judge here in Shoreline because I believe that our court deserves highly qualified judges who have a deep commitment to justice. The broad and varied 21 years of legal experience I have brought to this court as a King County Senior Deputy Prosecutor, civil litigator, and legal advisor to businesses and government entities has been, I believe, an asset to the community. My personal background, as the son of migrant farmworkers who has witnessed violence and addiction, has instilled in me a deep commitment to fairness, equality, public safety, and accountability.

I take to heart Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” I believe that I am best qualified to serve others through my work in the courtroom every day. Most people have their one and only experience with our justice system in a District Court, many appearing without the representation of an attorney. What they see and hear in this court matters a great deal.

I am honored by the support of colleagues and community leaders. But I am most eager to earn your support. I hope you’ll take a moment to read a bit more about my background and will join the growing list of my supporters.
